The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is currently seeking local institute council members to sit on two new working parties that are being established to enhance local institute practices.
The first will oversee the distribution of CII agreed local institute annual funding whilst the second will assist in improving protocol and processes relating to local institute financial practices.
Local Institute Assessment and Funding Panel
This will review and make recommendations for the transparent distribution of CII allocated local institute funding in relation to ordinary grants, special grants and local institute reserves. It will also assume responsibility for reviewing and making recommendations with regard to the local institute assessment criteria.
Local Institute Finance Working Party
The Local Institute Finance Working Party (LIFWP) will provide feedback and guidance on the development of local institute accounting practices and protocols.
This will include the development of a local institute accounting tool; guidance on centralised annual audit processes, and support on proposed annual financial reporting.
