At this year’s CII President’s Dinner the CII intends to acknowledge a number of key individuals and companies for their work in the public arena that has gone that extra mile to promote professionalism and drive forward our public trust agenda.
The categories are below, and the awards are not open for general entry but will be based on nominations from key market figures – hence my writing to you.
A nomination need only consist of the name of an individual or company and a few words on why you think they should be recognised. A special awarding panel will then review all nominations before deciding on the winners.
The categories are:
Building Public Trust Consumer Champion This special award will be given to an individual from outside of the general , life, pensions and long term savings profession, that the CII believes has shown a consistent commitment to benefitting customers by educating them about insurance or financial planning issues, or by championing the customer's perspective.
Building Public Trust in Insurance This award will be given to an individual from inside the general insurance profession, who has made a significant impact by championing the issue of public interest, either amongst internal staff, across the profession as a whole or with the wider public.

Building Public Trust Consumer Marketing & Awareness This special award will be given to a company within the general , life, pensions and long-term savings profession, that the CII believes has addressed a key issue on risk in an educationally driven marketing or public relations campaign. The award recognises the important role the profession can play in helping address the protection gap facing society.
Classroom to Boardroom Initiative of the Year This award recognises an individual or organisation that has made a significant contribution to the CII’s strategic Classroom to Boardroom strategy. This is about attracting and retaining talented people in the insurance profession - from highlighting the opportunities and finding ways to encourage diversity to providing structured and rewarding training and career paths
