CII Speaker database launches – helping you to create an effective CPD programme

Continuing professional development is one of the cornerstones of professionalism – and it’s a requirement for all qualified members of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Your local institute is ideally placed to identify your members’ development needs and provide the relevant learning they require.

To help with this, the regional membership team is delighted to announce the launch of a nationwide CII speaker database, as a replacement to the annual CPD offering, which is now for the first time accessible online.

The CII speaker database, which is hosted on Network know-how (click on the red tab above), is a searchable list of speakers that you, as a local institute council member, can contact directly to arrange an event for your institute members.

Develop your local programme instantly

The database currently contains over 300 topics from a variety of speakers covering Technical, Soft Skills, Market Knowledge and Revision subjects. Some of the speakers are professional trainers, whilst others have day jobs and have kindly offered a limited number of sessions in their specialised field.

How does the database work?

As a local institute council member, you can search the database using up to four filters, depending on your requirements – topic, speaker, location and hot topic. The event details will be clearly displayed listing the areas the speaker is willing to travel to, how many sessions have been offered and their fee, if applicable. Please note that all advertised fees exclude VAT, travel and accommodation.

To book the event, you simply click on the ‘Enquire’ button and complete the ‘Enquire Form’ – this will start a conversation between your institute and the speaker you are interested in booking.

Full guidelines can be downloaded below.

The database will be monitored throughout the year to ensure that conversations flow and that your requests get booked. This is the first phase of the database and we hope to further develop it as usage grows, including a more comprehensive search facility and a feedback rating score

If you have any questions about the database, then please do not hesitate to contact one of the Regional Membership Managers.
