Local institute face to face events 2020

Over the last few months, we have carefully monitored the impact of coronavirus on the Local Institute Network, with the safety and wellbeing of our members remaining our number one priority. Following recent discussions at the Local Institute National Forum, we would like to update you with our latest guidance.

Despite recent relaxing of certain restrictions, it seems clear that various social distancing rules and altered working practices will remain in place for some considerable time.

There remains significant risks of transmission and infection, and we are also aware of several large organisations who have prohibited staff from attending events and gatherings.

In consideration of this, we strongly recommend that no face-to-face CPD events take place for the remainder of 2020, and Annual Dinners should not resume until the 2021/2022 Presidential year.

Although this will obviously be a disappointment to some, we believe this guidance will provide the necessary clarity to now prioritise and plan your digital CPD delivery for the remainder of this year. We believe the Local Institute Network has responded with remarkable agility and adaptability to the issues our members are facing, and we are sure that will continue.

We look forward to the return of face-to-face events as soon as they are safe and viable. In the meantime, if you require any assistance in delivering digital CPD, please do get in touch with Matthew Hall (Strategy & Operations Manager Insurance Societies & Networks) or your RMM, who will be able to offer help, support, and guidance.
