Withdrawal of J03 and AF2 – final sitting arrangements

The CII regularly reviews the range of qualifications and learning that it provides. Following a review, it has been decided that the level of interest in units J03 (The tax and legal aspects of business) and AF2 (Business financial planning) indicates that they are no longer a core part of the Diploma and Advanced Diploma journey for most learners. Therefore, the units will be withdrawn from the qualification framework.

The last opportunity to sit the assessment for these units for the first time, will be in the Q2 2021 session. Available public sittings for this unit are listed below and on the important dates webpage. Please note the final booking dates for these sessions.

  • J03 – Exam date: Wednesday 2nd June 2021. The final booking date for this session is Wednesday 19th May 2021.
  • AF2 – Exam date: Wednesday 26th May 2021. The final booking date for this session is Wednesday 12th May 2021.

In addition, a resit opportunity is being arranged for the second half of 2021, which will only be available for current students who have previously failed the unit. This resit, including the tax tables, will be based on an extension of the existing syllabus.

Any credits achieved from these units will continue to count towards the completion requirements of the Diploma in Financial Planning and the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning after the units’ withdrawal.
