CII Honours Local Institute Volunteers

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) honoured its most dedicated members during the Local Institute Volunteer Awards at the Network Conference 2025, held at Cameron House, Loch Lomond earlier this year. Sponsored by AVIVA, the event recognised the exceptional commitment of volunteers who are the backbone of the Local Institute network across the UK.

Outgoing Awards Panel Chair Callum Beaton reflected on the importance of the occasion. “Recognising and rewarding the role of our volunteers across the Local Institute network is vital. These individuals give their time and energy to support our profession, and they deserve every bit of celebration and appreciation.”

Callum, who has chaired the Awards Panel for nearly three years, recently handed over the role to Martin Ashfield who sits on the Council of the Insurance Institute of Bolton and is a previous award recipient, “It has been my privilege to serve as Chair and to witness first-hand the passion and dedication of our volunteers,” he added. “Without them, the Local Institute network simply wouldn’t exist.”

New Chair Martin Ashfield expressed his enthusiasm about taking on the role. “I’m honoured to step into this position and continue recognising the incredible work of our volunteers. Their efforts make a real difference in our profession and our network of local institutes, and I’m excited to build on the great foundation Callum has laid.”

The event not only celebrated individual achievements but also reinforced CII’s commitment, alongside sponsors like AVIVA, to supporting and growing the Local Institute network.
