The regional membership team continue to work on projects, process and protocol to further move forward the Evolving the Partnership initiative which focuses on the three overarching themes of Volunteer Engagement, LI Visibility and LI Proposition Development. These themes will further inform the team's work into 2026.
Local Institute National Forum (November 2025)
A positive LINF meeting was held in November featuring updates from the National Forum Officers, an overview of the Evolving the Partnership by the regional membership team and a presentation from the CIIs Legal Counsel, Liam Russell. LINF meetings have been changed for 2026 to ensure they fit better with the CII Committee meeting and the CIIs Board meetings.
Local Institute Visibility: social media (Linked In) + The Journal
Regular LI updates and profiling of CII activities are being provided via both platforms. Please note the team now have access to 41 Local Institute accounts – allowing us to update with content on a regular basis. The team hopes to increase this over the coming months. Journal content developed for next issue and provided to Journal editor.
Local institute Visibility: Website refresh
The regional membership team continue to work closely with our digital agency, Graph, and a group of local institute volunteers to enhance the look and feel of the Local Institute websites. Our aim is to improve the member experience and streamline how members interact with your site. The team aims to roll the refresh at the start of 2026.
Local Institute Visibility: LI Promotional Campaign
The team have been working with Poulsen Selleck (marketing agency) to create a marketing campaign to promote the benefits of members engaging with their local institute. Volunteer video content was recorded at NC2025 which will be utilised as part of the campaign along with key insurance influencers. The campaign will launch in Q1 of 2026.
Local Institute Visibility: LI Podcast
The team have now delivered the third and final podcast for 2025 – the podcast interviews three local institute council members on the benefits of the local membership proposition, developing visibility around what our network of 51 institutes offers our members across the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands. The team will revisit this comms channel for 2026, potentially developing the number rolled out.
Volunteer Engagement: Digital Town Halls
The team have now hosted the second round of Digital Town Halls for 2025. These key volunteer engagement touch points help develop relationships between the CIIs ELT and our volunteer network – feedback was consistently positive across the four events.
Local Institute Operations: Data Sharing Agreements and ICO registration
The regional membership team will be ensuring each of the 51 local institutes is signed up to a data sharing agreement and registered with the ICO over the coming months. This piece of work is being done in conjunction with the CIIs Data Governance Manager. A thematic group meeting was held where it became apparent that data is a topic that needs to be handled with care. The team have decided to develop a working group of volunteers to discuss the process / protocol around the data sharing agreement and ICO registration.
Local Institute Operations: Measuring Member / Volunteer Engagement
The team have been working on an engagement crib sheet that will provide a snapshot overview of both member and volunteer engagement for each of the 51 local institutes. Considering key member activities, event attendance and engagement with our programme of volunteer engagement touch points. The crib sheet also records membership numbers, funding and council size.
Local Proposition: Local institute output (Jan 25 – November 25)
The local institute network has run 1,716 member events since the start of the year – covering technical CPD, business skills, social events, and networking activities.
