Review and Development Plan for 2025–26

The Annual Local Institute Review and Development Plan is designed to support and promote consistent high performance across the local institute network. As promised during this year’s review meeting, please find within the link below the document that will be used at next year’s Review and Development Plan meeting. This document will guide a retrospective look at the past 12 months and help shape your institutes development for 2026–27.

The annual review process identifies and shares good practices, helping all institutes align their efforts with the most impactful activities. Our aim is to provide a clear roadmap for institute councils, as they work to deliver an exceptional membership proposition to their members locally.

Local institutes are reviewed across five weighted categories, reflecting their importance:

  1. Governance
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Member and Non-Member Engagement
CII Engagement
Communication

The development plan serves as a practical tool for each Local Institute President, helping them plan for the year ahead. It ensures the institute delivers key member services—such as CPD events, social activities, and communications—while upholding high standards of governance. These plans also support long-term institute progression and act as a valuable barometer of performance.
